January Specials

SNG_January2015Specials

We are excited to introduce our January Juice and Smoothie Specials! Here’s

why they’re delicious and, of course, why they’re nutritious.

Merry Berry

The Taste: It has a tart berry taste yet is still warming and comforting because of

the oats and cinnamon. A berry smoothie that is fit for colder months.

The Mix: Banana, Cinnamon, Acai, Oats, Cranberry, Strawberry, Almond Milk

The Fix: Strawberries, cranberries and acai berries are all packed with

antioxidants. These antioxidants eliminate cell damaging free radicals from your

body and help to keep you healthy and disease free. Rolled oats are a great

source of protein as well as fiber. The fiber both the oats and banana contain will

fill you up and help keep you fuller longer. Getting an adequate amount of protein

and fiber is the key to maintaining stable blood sugar levels. Cinnamon

emphasizes this because it also helps to regulate blood sugar.  Having stable

blood sugar works to keep you energized and helps you avoid those mid-day

hunger mood swings. This is a good smoothie to grab for breakfast or mid-day

snack as a great treat to stave off hunger.

Burn Baby Burn

The Taste: Savory and spicy!

The Mix: Celery, Lemon, Cayenne, Cucumber

The Fix: Think Detox. Cucumber and celery juice have a high water content that

helps to hydrate your body. They hydrate while replacing electrolytes and other

essential vitamins and nutrients. Cucumber and celery juice also act to soothe

your body by reducing inflammation.  Lemon is great for cleansing the liver and

the digestive system. Cayenne pepper also cleanses the system. It purifies the

blood and aids in the body’s natural detoxification process by promoting healthy

sweating. Sometimes you need to spice it up for some serious detox.

*This drink can be made year round upon request!

Gingerbread Man Smoothie

The Taste: The flavor of a delicious gingerbread cookie blended with creamy

cashews to really satisfy a craving for a comforting sweet treat.

The Mix: Ginger, Cashews, Banana, Cinnamon, Hemp Seed, Honey, Vanilla,

Almond Milk

The Fix: Raw honey is rich in vitamins, minerals and living enzymes. Hemp

seeds and cashews are high in both protein and heart healthy omega-3 fatty

acids. Omega 3’s help the body prevent stroke and heart attack. Cashews and

vanilla are believed to be calming. Vanilla beans reduce pain and inflammation

and their warm, rich taste and aroma soothes the mind as well as the body.

Ginger also helps to reduce pain and inflammation. Cashews contain tryptophan,

an essential amino acid that improves serotonin production in the brain.

Serotonin works for mood regulation in the brain and can promote the effects of

calmness and relaxation. This creamy and delicious smoothie will make you feel

as good as it tastes.

Winter Warmer

The Taste: Warming and sweet. This is a juice with character and a little ginger

kick.

The Mix: Cinnamon, Ginger, Beet, Carrot, Apple

The Fix: Eating seasonally allows you to get the most nutritional benefits from

your food and it is also a great way to support local famers. Root vegetables are

in season during the winter months and this drink is a great way to get your fill.

Carrots contain vitamins and antioxidants like vitamin A and vitamin C; both of

which help to keep your immune system functioning at its fullest potential. Ginger

gives your system an immune boost because of its high levels of antioxidants

and improves your body’s circulation. Beets are very cleansing to the system.

They’re great for detoxifying the liver and purifying the blood. Beets are also

packed with nutrients and can improve energy levels, making this a great choice

for a pre workout drink.

The Reset Button

The Taste: Tart and refreshing. If you’re a grapefruit lover this is the drink for you.

The Mix: Grapefruit, Mint, Carrot

The Fix: Grapefruit contains fat burning enzymes that rev up the metabolism

while hydrating the body and detoxifying the system. Grapefruit also contains

antioxidants that can help reduce cholesterol levels. Mint cleanses the stomach

and is great for digestion. Carrots contain vitamin A that protects your skin from

damage and will give you that healthy glo. This drink is a great way to give your

metabolism a boost, soothe your digestive system and get your skin glo-ing

again.
